Who remembers Frogger??

Hey guys!

How is it? It's sometimes good to remember the good things in life - like BMX's, Barter Bullets, Tree-hutts, and real arcade games - such as Frogger.
Now I may be showing my age, but Frogger was the bee's knees when i was... young - I mean who could forget the excitement of playing this game on a C64 with a tape drive? ;)

On a side note, God has been challenging me lately about not giving up and how i have to faithfully preserve even when things aren't going so well or i don't feel like i can do what he has called me to do. I continually must remind myself that it is not by my power or ability, but only by the work of the Spirit. For it says:

..."This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD Almighty...
- Zechariah 4:6 (NIV)

Doesn't that make it so much easier? The Spirit is so amazing - i am learning to trust God more and more as he reveals himself to me when i spend time with him.

So my word for today is to never give up, and as a good friend of mine once told me: -

Keep on Truckin'!

Firebrands!

Wow! What an amazing looking bunch of people.

Hasn't it been an awesome week. Tuesday nights message from Pastor Ian was so inspiring, our church has such a great heritage. We belong to an awesome family.
If you wanted to see it again this is the firebrand Prophecy he talked about:

"And the Lord would say I am getting ready to answer not only your prayers, but the prayers of those who have gone before you. And this is what the Holy Spirit showed me – that in the past the Apostolic Church was founded with a great move of the Holy Spirit. And in this last hour, as God is raising up Apostles, the Lord is once again going to visit the Apostolic Church. And the presence of the Holy Spirit is going to sweep in with a new wine, fresh anointing. And the Lord says, 'I am going to especially visit the youth, and I am going to come with my power and my might, and I am going to raise up a generation of Apostolic Firebrands that are going to burn with a blaze and a fire that cannot be quenched," says the Lord. I am going to raise up those David's, a Davidic worshipping generation who are going to love me with all their hearts and all their minds and all their soul." (Cindy Jacobs)

This is an amazing prophecy to hold on to and be inspired by,it is time to rise up as a generation that will stand our ground and move forward together in unity.
You guys are gods best plan for your community, what are you going to do with what he has given you? You all have the potential to do great things, and value beyond measure, but its your choice what you do with it. Don't put it off till tomorrow what you can do today.

"For I know the plans i have for you declares the lord plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future"
Jeremiah 29:11

Message from Lynda

hey guys
wow I can hardly believe I only have just over 2 weeks left here in this city. I leave Abancay on August 9, to do touristy stuff like Macchu Picchu with my cuz Michelle who´s gona meet me in Cusco. (That is, if we can get into Maccu Picchu. Dont know if it made it to the news over there, but the same week it made it to 7 Wonders of the World, massive strikes and protests prevented anyone from getting into Macchu Picchu, and stranded thousands of people in Cusco for a week. And today schools have finally opened again after 3weeks of strikes. Welcome to life in Peru!!)

I wana encourage you with a couple of testimonies. I´ve had such awesome God stuff happen these past few weeks. Ive been getting to know more of the young women in my barrio (neighbourhood), and God has blown me away with the doors He´s opened into their lives. The 16yr old girl next door has been coming to youth group every friday for 3 weeks now, and is (hopefully) gona start going to cell group this week... the woman down the road that I regularly pop in to see asked me to stop just ´calling past´ and instead come back to talk and explain the book of John to her... and a couple of young women down the road want to learn English from me - by singing worship songs! Its just so encouraging to see that the harvest really is ready. I would love your prayers for the next 2 weeks, that these women would be challenged to make decisions, and that they would be followed up after I leave. And that I would finish well, and do my best for these girls, and not get distracted :)
Pray also for me as my wee heart is just not getting used to saying goodbye - no matter how many times Ive had to do it!! Help me to leave well, and to settle back in when I get home.

looking forward to seeing y´all, and hearing what´s been happening in your life these past 6 months. Im hanging out to get to good cafe... so coffee catch ups will be a definite!!!!

love, Lynda

Benny Hinn Crusade

‘Then great multitudes came to Him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others; and they laid them down at Jesus’ feet, and He healed them’ MATTHEW 15:30

There have been times in my walk with God where I have seen and felt things I can never put into words. This was one of them. I have read the stories of Jesus healing the sick a thousand times, but there in front of my eyes, the new testament came to life. As people were brought in on stretchers and wheelchairs I suddenly realised. Sickness and disease were never, ever part of God’s will for us. It was devastating. I couldn’t contain my sadness as I felt God filling me with overwhelming compassion for the sick. I began to see things from His perspective.

Before we left for the crusade I knew we wouldn’t come back the same. I had been praying the whole experience would impact and change all of us. But nothing could have prepared me for the revelation I received. God has completely changed my attitude and my heart towards the lost and dying world we live in.

I used to think Benny Hinn had a healing ministry. Yes, He travels the world taking the saving, healing power of Jesus Christ. But more importantly, Benny carries a gift. He lead thousands into worship unlike anything I have ever heard or seen, and his sensitivity and awareness of the Holy Spirit was hard for me to comprehend. And yet, Benny is simply a man willing answer God’s call and take the message of the cross to those in need. Even before the services began the lame were getting up and beginning to walk. A woman, who was 59 years old, had been 90% deaf her whole life. She was completely healed just sitting in her seat. Another woman received her sight. Countless people were set free from cancer, asthma, emphysema, diabetes, arthritis and even HIV.

The message was clear to me. God heals everyday, ordinary people. His power is immeasurable, His love and mercy unchanging. He loves all people and longs for us to not just have life, but life abundant. Jesus bore all our sickness and infirmities on the cross, and we do not have to carry them.

‘And these signs will follow those who believe: in My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues… they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover’
MARK 16:17-18

Animal hair used to come here but only down the stairs???

Hey guys,

What an awesome night we had on Tuesday - still getting over the fact my team came 3rd! gutted.

However what a fantastic rally mike set up for us.

The clues provided us with many challenges but I think the key lay in being strategic in which place you decided to visit first.

Next week promises to be just as challenging and fun - so bring your friends and meet at the church @ 7.30.

See you all then
Cattie
